The city of La Orotava is probably one of the most beatiful cities in Tenerife. Above, a typical Canary Islands balcony, specially found in La Orotava. At the top-right, the city hall square, where once a year this plaza is covered by the famous carpets of volcanic sands.
This historic city, just a few miles East from Puerto de la Cruz, it is a must if you want to see the real Tenerife.

December 8, 2006 on 12:14 am | In Puerto de la Cruz, Los Cristianos, Playa jardin, Las Vistas, Beach, Pictures, Tenerife | No CommentsTenerife has a great variety of beaches, most of them are from volcanic origin, easily recognized by their color: black or grey. The photo above is Playa Jardin, in El Puerto de La Cruz. Nevertheless, most of the coast in the south part of the island (Las Americas, Los Cristianos, Las Torviscas, Fañabe, El duque) have white sand.
